HOW TO GET THERE AND WHERE TO STAY

We’re so excited to welcome you to Częstochowa as we celebrate our wedding!

To help make your travel planning simple and stress-free, we’ve gathered a few details about how to get here, where to stay, and how to get around.

Getting Here:

Częstochowa is located in southern Poland and is easily accessible by car, train, or plane.

Nearest Airports: Katowice Airport (KTW) – approximately 1 hour away, or Kraków Airport (KRK) – about 2 hours away.
By Train: There are frequent trains from major cities such as Warsaw, Kraków, and Katowice to Częstochowa Główna Station.
By Car: Częstochowa is about a 2.5-hour drive from Warsaw and a 1-hour drive from Katowice.

We recommend arranging transportation in advance, especially if you’re arriving internationally.

We kindly recommend the Grand Hotel in Częstochowa for your stay during the wedding weekend. The hotel is conveniently located near the venue, allowing guests to walk between locations with ease.

To ensure a comfortable experience, we have arranged a reserved block of rooms for our guests. If you wish to stay at the Grand Hotel, please let us know your preferred room type so we can secure your reservation in advance and guarantee availability upon your arrival.

You may also use public transportation, which includes buses, trams, and the metro (in Warsaw). In Poland, a convenient app called “JakDojade” allows you to quickly check public transport connections and, in some cities, purchase tickets directly. For travel between cities, trains are a reliable option, and the “Koleo” app can be used to check schedules and plan your journey.

UBER or BOLT

Close to the airports, you will find internationally recognized car rental companies, offering a convenient and flexible way to travel during your stay.

If you plan to rent a car in Poland, most visitors can use their valid driver’s license from their home country. For smoother processing, we strongly recommend obtaining an International Driving Permit (IDP) before your trip. This ensures a hassle-free experience, especially when driving in larger cities or between destinations.

Exploring Poland

Gdańsk

Gdańsk is an attractive city and you should definitely spend some time exploring the Old Town, with highlights including St. Mary’s Church and the Long Market Square, or Długi Targ. It has also beautiful, renovated area by the Motława river with many restaurants and attractions. One of my most interesting parts of Gdansk is Stocznia Gdańska, the Gdańsk shipyards. This is where Gdańsk saw the rise of the Solidarity Movement in the late 1980’s which eventually saw the overthrow of socialism and ushered in a democratic Poland.

Warszawa

Poland’s capital and largest city, making it a destination you can’t miss. Although more than 85% of Warsaw’s historic center was destroyed during World War II, it has been meticulously reconstructed in beautiful detail.

This restoration is a testament to Warsaw’s resilience. Today, the city is a mixture of old and new. Outside the reconstructed Old Town, Warsaw is a modern, bustling city.

Kraków

Kraków is one of the most important polish cities. Wawel Castle is one of Krakow’s top attractions. This historic fortified royal castle is a symbol of the city, and it’s where the rulers of Poland governed for more than 500 years until the end of the 16th century. According to legend, a dragon lived under the hill where the castle was built. You can actually see a statue of this dragon – that breathes real fire – behind the castle.

Wrocław

Wrocław is a picturesque city that is among the most beautiful places in Poland. Part of what makes Wroclaw so unique is its many bridges. There are more than 100 bridges spanning the river and canals that run through the city.

Another thing that sets Wroclaw apart? Gnomes. There are more than 600 small gnome statues hidden throughout the city. This fun tradition started in 2005, and the number of gnomes in Wroclaw has grown ever since.

Zakopane

Zakopane is the capital of polish mountains. If you’re interested in outdoor activities, Zakopane is a destination you’ll definitely want to visit. Located in Southern Poland in the Tatra Mountains, Zakopane is the country’s top mountain resort town, perfect for outdoor and nature enthusiasts. Zakopane is one of the best places to visit in Poland at any time of year. During the summer months, it’s a popular place for hiking and mountain climbing, as well as other outdoor activities, like swimming and cycling.

Katowice

A vibrant and progressive city, Katowice doesn’t usually make it a top place to visit.

Its primary focus was industry but the city has been transforming and expanding, especially within its cutting-edge Cultural Zone. Katowice has an interesting history as well as it was once known for the coal mines in the area.Nikiszowiec, a district that was once a separate city, is located right on the outskirts and the architecture is fascinating, with deep brown brick with red adorning the windows.
